Medication Cost Assistance

Medication coverage and cost can be difficult, confusing, and even frustrating at times. We at Preferred
Primary Care Physicians strive to help our patients obtain medications that are affordable and
appropriate for their health conditions.
We have included information below about some programs that may assist with additional cost savings,
to be used with or without insurance coverage. Please note that you may or may not be eligible for
these programs based on the type of insurance you have or the specific program’s terms of eligibility.

– Any Pennsylvania resident over the age of 18 is eligible for assistance.

– Cash discount card used without insurance. Lowers the cash price of a medication.
– Price given online may vary by pharmacy and by day.

Cost Savings Resources for Commercially Insured Patients
(insurance issued by a private company, not the government)
Resource: Manufacturer Copay Assistance Cards
– Only available for select brand name medications. These copay cards can often be found by
doing an online search for “[Medication name] copay card”. Terms and conditions may
apply.

If you obtain a copay assistance card, provide this card information to your
pharmacy.

Cost Savings Resources for Medicare Patients
Resource: PACE and PACENET
– If you qualify, PACE and PACENET offer low-cost prescription medications.
– The program will provide you with a card to give to your pharmacy to use alongside
Medicare insurance.
– Must be 65 years of age or older and a Pennsylvania resident.
– Must meet income requirements based on previous year’s gross income.
– Those with Medicaid benefits are not eligible.

Resource: Medicare Part D Extra Help
– Extra Help is a program that covers Medicare drug coverage (Part D) costs for people who
have limited income and resources.
– If you qualify for Extra Help, the program may help pay for Medicare Part D premiums,
deductibles, coinsurance, and other costs.
