Dr. Nate Bennett is a Board-Certified Family Physician and a Certified Headache Medicine Subspecialist. He completed his residency at Forbes Family Medicine Residency in Monroeville, PA (1993) and is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College (1990) and Washington and Jefferson College (1986). He is the founder and medical director of the Preferred Headache Center.

Dr. Bennett treats all ages and a wide variety of medical issues. In the Headache Medicine subspecialty, he is involved in the development of headache guidelines and educational programs on a national level. He is also the principal investigator and author in many clinical research studies.

Dr. Bennett’s interest in clinical informatics and quality care is a driving force as a member of the Medicare ARRA HITECH Quality Measures Technical Expert Panel for development of quality measures and the Information Technology Medical Staff Liaison at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He participates in the Meaningful Use ad hoc committee with Siemens Healthcare Solutions and is a member of the EMR and Quality Committees with Preferred Primary Care Physicians. Dr. Bennett is also a board member of Preferred Healthcare Informatics, a consulting firm geared towards assist physicians with electronic health records and achieving “meaningful use”.

His professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians, Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians, American Headache Society, National Headache Foundation, and the International Headache Society. In the American Headache Society, he was the Chairman on the Primary Care Section for four years and serves on the Academic Affairs, Behavioral Health, and Pediatric Sections as well as the Medical Education Committee and the American Headache Society Committee on Headache Education (ACHE).
